Batting

Abhishek Sharma, Mayank Agarwal and Rahul Tripathi would be the likely top 3 but this could change. They lack any of explosiveness at the top but have bought the highly rated Harry Brooks who could come in at 4 and do some damage. New Zealand’s Glenn Phillips and South Africa’s Aiden Markram would bat at 5 and 6. Both of them have a lot of experience which will come in handy if the top order fails. Washington Sundar, Marco Jansen and Bhuvneshwar Kumar are no tail-enders and are known to score quickly.

All-Rounders

Sunrisers are short when it comes to their all-round options. While Mumbai has Cameroon Green, Chennai has Ben Stokes, and Gujarat has Hardik Panyda, SRH lacks a player of such a calibre. Washington Sundar and Marco Jansen are bowling all-rounders and expecting big runs from them is a big ask. Abhishek Sharma is good option as he has prior experience of playing in the IPL. Hyderabad have bought Vikrant Sharma and Samarth Vyas as backup options.

Bowlers

Umran Malik, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and T Natrajan will be SRH’s primary pace options. All of them are proven match-winners and has the ability to bow at the start and end. Marco Jansen and Fazalhaq Farooqi are good options to bowl during the middle overs. Adil Rashil, Washington Sundar and Akeal Hossein are the spin options with SRH. Abhishek Sharma and Glenn Phillips can also chip in with some overs in the middle.

Going into the IPL 2023, the SRH team is nicely put together. The inclusion of Mayank Agarwal gives the top of the order some steadiness. Another young, energetic player, Harry Brook, joins the team and gives SRH another interesting alternative. The middle order is experienced due to individuals like Heinrich Klaasen, Glenn Phillips, and Aiden Markram. The team also includes bowlers and all-rounders with international T20 cricket expertise.
