IND vs BAN 1st Test Day 2: The second day of the first Test at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium saw India gaining a big advantage over a struggling Bangladesh side.
India started the second day at a 339 for 6, with Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja at the crease. Despite losing their last four wickets for just 37 runs, India managed to post a very strong total of 376. Ashwin top-scored with a magnificent 113, while Jadeja contributed a solid 86. Taskin Ahmed and Hasan Mahmud were the pick of the bowlers for Bangladesh, with Taskin claiming three wickets and Mahmud securing his first five-wicket haul in India.
In response, Bangladesh struggled against a relentless Indian bowling attack. Jasprit Bumrah like he always does led the charge with a sensational four-wicket haul, bundling Bangladesh to a mere 149 in their first innings. Bumrah’s spell was a masterclass in pace and precision, dismantling the Bangladeshi batting line-up with relative ease. ‘Sir’ Ravindra Jadeja also chipped in with crucial wickets, ensuring that Bangladesh never got a foothold in the game.
By the end of the day, India had extended their lead to 308 runs, ending at 81 for 3 in their second innings. Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant were at the crease, ready to continue India’s dominance on Day 33.
India will hoping to end the game quickly within the third day itself as they would want to give their bowlers a rest. India are scheduled to play 10 test in the next 4 months.
