103 Balls, 205 Runs – Chad Bowes' Insane Knock Will Blow Your Mind!

New Zealand’s Chad Bowes has made history by smashing the record for the fastest double hundred in List A cricket. The hard-hitting opener reached the milestone in just 103 balls, breaking the previous record of 114 balls shared by India’s Narayan Jagadeesan and Australia’s Travis Head.

Ford Trophy Fireworks

Playing for Canterbury against Otago in the Ford Trophy, Bowes delivered a breathtaking performance at Hagley Oval, Christchurch. His innings of 205 off 110 balls rewrote the record books, leaving fans in awe. The South African-born batter hit an astonishing 27 fours and 7 sixes, driving his team to a strong total of 343/9. Canterbury’s bowlers then skittled Otago for just 103, clinching a massive 240-run win.

Turning Frustration into Glory

Bowes came into this match with a point to prove after missing out on New Zealand’s white-ball tour of Sri Lanka. Determined to make a statement, he blazed through his first 50 runs in just 26 balls and reached his century in 53 balls. Although he narrowly missed Ross Taylor’s record for the fastest hundred in Ford Trophy history, Bowes’ double ton will be remembered for years to come.

Joining an Elite Club

With this knock, the 32-year-old joined an exclusive group, becoming the first player since Jamie How to hit a double century in the Ford Trophy. How scored 222 for Central Stags back in the 2012/13 season. Bowes also shattered his personal best score of 126, setting a new high in his List A career.

A Rising Star in New Zealand Cricket

Known for his aggressive approach at the top of the order, Bowes has already made a name for himself with appearances in ODIs and T20 Internationals for New Zealand. This latest achievement further cements his reputation as a dangerous batter, proving that he’s ready to compete at the highest level.
