PCB have revealed new Pakistan cricket jersey for the upcoming ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, which they have named as their ‘Star Nation Jersey’. The jersey was launched at a grand event in Lahore on Monday, ahead of their Asia Cup 2023 opener against Nepal on Wednesday.
The ‘Star Nation Jersey’ is a tribute to the cricketing achievements of Pakistan, as well as the aspirations of their fans. The Pakistan cricket jersey features stars on the front and back, representing excellence, ambition, and the brilliant shine of cricketing glory. The jersey also has the Pakistan flag and the PCB logo on the chest, and the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 logo on the sleeve.
The PCB Chairman, Mr. Zaka Ashraf, led the ceremony at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, where he unveiled the Pakistan cricket jersey along with some of the Pakistan players. He said that the jersey was a symbol of pride and passion for Pakistan cricket, and hoped that it would inspire the team to perform well in the upcoming tournaments.
Pakistan have a rich history in the ODI World Cup, having won it once in 1992 under the legendary Imran Khan. They also reached the final in 1999, and the semi-final in 2011. However, they had a disappointing campaign in 2019, where they failed to qualify for the knockouts. They also lost to their arch-rivals India in Manchester.
Pakistan will be hoping to bounce back in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, which will be held in India from October 6 to November 26. Pakistan will begin their campaign against the Netherlands in Hyderabad on October 6, and will face India in Ahmedabad on October 14. The other teams in their group are England, Afghanistan, Ireland, and Namibia.
The new Pakistan cricket jersey is available for pre-order on PCB’s official online store. Fans can also get their names and numbers printed on the back of the jersey for an additional cost. The jersey is expected to be delivered by September 15.
Pakistan are currently ranked fourth in the ICC Men’s ODI Team Rankings, behind England, India, and New Zealand. They have a talented and balanced squad, led by Babar Azam, who is ranked second in the ICC Men’s ODI Player Rankings for batsmen. They also have some exciting young players like Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shadab Khan.
Pakistan will be aiming to repeat their 1992 heroics and lift their second ODI World Cup trophy in 2023. With their new ‘Star Nation Jersey’, they will be hoping to shine bright like stars on the biggest stage of cricket.
