India Cricket Team is about to start its home season with a 2-test series against Bangladesh. So with this in mind, lets check out which player has scored the Most 50+ in Home Tests since 2020?
The player at the top with Most 50+ in Home Tests since 2020 is Subhman Gill with an impressive 7 fifties in 23 innings. Shubman had bright start to his test career with match winning knocks against Australia. But he seemed to struggle during 2022 and 2023 season. He got back to his run scoring ways when England visited India in 2024 for a 5 test series which India won.
Close behind is his opening partner and captian Rohit Sharma, with six 50+ scores in 25 innings.
Ravindra Jadeja, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Rishabh Pant have each scored five 50+ , with Jadeja achieving this in 16 innings, and both Jaiswal and Pant in just nine innings each. It is also impressive for Rishabh Pant given the fact that he was out of the game for more than a year after suffering injuries in a terrible car accident.
Shreyas Iyer and Axar Patel have also made notable contributions, each recording four 50+ scores in 15 and 19 innings, respectively. Meanwhile, Sarfaraz Khan and Virat Kohli have each scored three 50+ innings, with Khan achieving this in just five innings and Kohli in 17.
Seeing Virat at the botton of the list maybe a cause of concern for the team management. He has not had a great run in tests but seeing his fab four rival Joe Root pile on runs will definitely motivate him.
