The final over of Day 1 at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) saw fireworks as Jasprit Bumrah and 19-year-old Sam Konstas clashed in a heated exchange. It all began when Usman Khawaja, at the striker’s end, delayed Bumrah’s delivery, disrupting the pacer’s rhythm. Instead of staying out of it, Konstas, at the non-striker’s end, stepped in with comments that visibly riled up Bumrah.
On the next ball, Bumrah struck, dismissing Khawaja with a sharp delivery caught brilliantly by KL Rahul in the slips. But the action didn’t stop there. Bumrah stormed toward Konstas with an icy death stare, celebrating the wicket in dramatic fashion. Even Virat Kohli, known for his animated displays, joined in, running from the slips to further charge up the moment.
