Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians faced off in a key game in Jaipur as IPL 2025 approaches the playoffs. Fans found it strange that star spinner Yuzvendra Chahal was not part of the Punjab Kings (PBKS) team on Thursday. What happened, what it suggests and how it could influence PBKS’s chances in the playoffs are all reviewed in this cricket exchange highlight.
Cricket Exchange: Injury Rules Chahal Out of Top 2 Shootout
Chahal’s Injury Concerns
Star wicket-taker Yuzvendra Chahal was missing from the Royals side when they faced Mumbai Indians (MI) on May 26. On May 24, Chahal missed his team’s game against Delhi Capitals. Some say the finger issue is a tough blow for him as he gets ready for the playoffs. IPL visuals from the toss reveal that Ruturaj Gaikwad spoke with MI’s Hardik Pandya while obviously in pain, but no statement from PBKS has been released yet.
Chahal’s Performance in IPL 2025
Chahal is playing his first season with Punjab Kings, after he was acquired for ₹18 crore at the 2025 IPL Mega Auction in Jeddah. So far, he has taken 14 wickets in 11 matches. He impressed by taking four wickets in both matches, the first against Kolkata and the next against Chennai and during the Chennai match, he took his second IPL hat-trick. This has affected a lot of cricket exchange odds.
Why This Match Mattered
It wasn’t just another race – they battled straight for the top-two position. If the team won, they could play in the final two times and if we lost, they would have to fight in the eliminator round. PBKS lacked their most trusted spinner after Chahal which often makes a difference in cricket exchange markets.
