Prashant Veer Injury Update Ahead of IPL 2026
Veer, who was bought by CSK for ₹14.20 crore during the IPL 2026 auction – injured his shoulder on Day 1 of his team, Uttar Pradesh’s, Ranji Trophy clash against Jharkhand. This was while fielding before lunch, which had forced Veer off field and take him out of the match.
Per the updated BCCI domestic cricket rules, Veer had been replaced by Shivam Sharma, who became the Serious Injury Replacement. Many have reported that Prashant Veer may be sidelined for about three weeks. So this begs the question if he will be available for the upcoming IPL season.
CSK’s 2026 Plans for IPL Take a Hit
It is a shame, as CSK had invested quite a lot on Veer in the mini auction, having joined some of the highest paid uncapped players. The franchise also saw Veer as the like-for-like replacement after losing Ravindra Jadeja, who had been traded to Rajasthan Royals.
In fact, with IPL fast approaching – this injury of veer has disrupted the squad balance of CSK. Veer’s dual ability to bat and ball would mean potentially needing two replacements.
CSK’s Indian Premier League 2026 Challenge
Prashant Veer has had a very successful cricket career so far: playing for Uttar Pradesh and the Noida Super Kings in the UP T20 League, scoring 320 runs at a strike rate close to 155, and having three half-centuries. So you can imagine CSK’s frustration in potentially losing him from the lineup.
This injury from him has influenced a certain amount of buzz in the cricket exchange sites like 12BET Exchange. The CSK IPL 2026 odds are currently being reassessed because of this news. Only time will tell if Veer can join CSK post injury.
