Opening Ceremony: The countdown for the ICC World Cup 2023 has begun. The first match of the tournament will be a rematch of the 2019 final between England and New Zealand. But before that, there will be a spectacular opening ceremony on Oct 4 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The opening ceremony will start at 7 PM IST, after the Captains’ Day, where all 10 team leaders will be present.

The BCCI has arranged a dazzling show for the fans, featuring some of the biggest names from Bollywood and the music industry. Ranveer Singh, who sang the official World Cup anthem, will also perform on stage with some of the glamorous actresses from Bollywood and Tollywood.

The musical lineup includes Asha Bhosle, the legendary singer who will charm the crowd with her melodious voice. She will be joined by Shreya Ghoshal, Shankar Mahadevan and Arijit Singh, who are some of the most popular singers in India.

The opening ceremony will also showcase the rich and diverse culture of India, with a laser show and fireworks to add to the excitement. The fans who have bought tickets for the England vs New Zealand match will be able to witness the ceremony live.

The preparations for the event are in full swing, with the stage set up and rehearsals going on. The captains of all 10 teams will arrive in Ahmedabad on Oct 3 or Oct 4, depending on their warm-up matches. Rohit Sharma, the Indian captain, will arrive on Oct 4 morning as India will play against the Netherlands on Oct 3.

The opening ceremony will take place a day before the first match, as there is not enough time for such a show on the match day. The matches will start at 2 PM IST, which means that the fireworks and laser show will not be visible in daylight.

The opening ceremony will also be attended by the top officials of the ICC and BCCI, as well as the representatives of all cricket boards. The BCCI and ICC will extend invitations to them for the event.
